Max and Moritz are two orange tabbies rescued from a local cat rescue in 2010. They are not related though they certainly look it. They are named after the characters from Wernher von Braun's classic Max und Moritz - Eine Bubengeschichte in sieben Streichen or Max and Moritz (A Story of Seven Boyish Pranks), and they live up to their namesakes' in their continued antics. 

Max is small only about 10 pounds and with long hair. He looks a bit like a Siberian or even a very tiny Maine Coon though he has none of the intelligence from either. He embodies the term "endearingly stupid". He is loved all the same however, and is incredibly affectionate. He spends his days getting beauty sleep, drinking out of anything that is not his waterbowl and playing with odd toys such as bouncy balls, green beans and dust bunnies.

Moritz is large cat by nature, at a healthy weight he is naturally 14 pounds. However, a love of food, has brought that weight up a bit. Don't be fooled though, that does not slow him down. Smart, observant, and sly, if you don't watch your dinner can easily be missing in the blink of an eye. He loves watching people play video games or use just about any mobile device, getting into cabinets and closets, and whining. Spoiled and a mama's boy he huffs and puffs whenever things don't go quite his way. Hence why life is so hard being a Moritz.
